The Medicare Continuous Review Committee has formed a Surgical Assistant Working Group (SAWG) to assess the use of non medical surgical assistants in Australia. AANSA has been involved with the SAWG, advocating for our members, and presenting our contribution to surgical assisting. We have been informed that a 4 week public consultation period will soon open for stakeholders, consumers, and healthcare professions to give their voice in support of the PNSA role.
